Bed apples:
We woke up a bit hungover (surprise, surprise), and discovered that we had forgotten to eat the apples we had bought yesterday. Thus the bed apple was born. A delicious and nutritious hangover cure, the bed apple is compact, inexpensive, and offers you a complete morning fruit experience.

Montjuic:
We visited Montjuic, a hill bordering the city of Barcelona, on top of which sits a castle. We took a tram followed by a gondola to get to the top, and the entire time in the gondola we were going ballistic over how awesome the view in every direction was. Clambering all over the gondola, exclaiming in joy, we stuck our cameras out the tiny vent-windows trying to capture all the awesome views. The castle itself was also quite beautiful, as well as defensible. There were cannon there from multiple eras, even some long-range artillery that looked like they were from the 1940’s, very cool that such an ancient fortification had been used as a military base so recently.

cityscape from gondola. You can see the gaudi cathedral in the middle there (need to enlarge)

We walked down the hill, rather than taking the gondola, and along the way, I befriended a colony of sick cats, winning me the patient zero award. I’m now being vaccinated against rabies (series of 4 shots).
